In Christianity, The Cycle of Grace begins not with human effort but with God's unmerited favor — grace is given freely through Christ, not earned by deeds. This grace affirms identity in Christ, which leads to sustained spiritual strength, meaningful purpose, and ultimately fruitful actions.
Importantly, a Christian cannot earn grace — it is a gift (Ephesians 2:8-9). However, to live in response to grace, a Christian is called to remain in relationship with God through faith, humility, repentance, and obedience. What disrupts this cycle is self-reliance, pride, or trying to perform for acceptance rather than living from it.
